Chain Sling Types

Multi branch chain slings are available in double leg chain slings, triple leg chain slings & quadruple leg chain slings. These are available with oblong link/round rings, standard eye hook, grab hooks, foundry hooks, clevis hooks, swivel type and eye self locking hooks. Chain Slings with plate lifting clamps are also available. All our chain slings are supplied with test certificate from government approved test house for the safe working load and proof load testing as per IS: 2760-1980.

PRECAUTIONS FOR CARE & SAFE USE
Although chain slings are designed for rugged, lasting service, precautions should be observed to extend the
product's life. Certain hazards are inherent in the operation of chain slings and users must exercise care and common sense to ensure a safe working environment.  Please practice the following safe work rules:

  • Never exceed the working load limit of a chain sling.
  • All fittings and attachments must have a working load limit (WLL) equal to or greater than that of the chain; if not, the assembly must be rated at the WLL of the weakest component.
  • Do not rest or dump load on chain.
  • Remove all twists, knots or kinks before lifting.
  • Seat load properly within throat opening and centered in bowl of the hook.
  • Balance load to avoid undue stress on one leg of multi-leg slings.
  • Never bounce, jerk or shock load a sling when lifting or lowering items.
  • Remove slack by slowly applying the load to the chain.
  • Use pads around sharp corners.
  • Never force or hammer hooks or chain into position.
  • Never anneal alloy chain slings & Do not use in acid solutions.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures (under 20 degrees F or over 350 degrees F).
  • Clean and inspect chain slings regularly & Protect chain from corrosion.
  • Store chain slings in a clean, dry area, preferably by hanging on racks

HOW TO ORDER CHAIN SLINGS
  • Determine the maximum load to be lifted.
  • Choose the proper type of chain sling (single, double, etc.) dictated by the size, shape and weight of the load.
  • Estimate the approximate angle between a leg of the sling and the load during operation.
  • Select the proper attachment (hooks and master links) for your chain sling.
  • Determine the overall reach from bearing point on master link to bearing point on attachment.
  • Refer to the Working Load Limit Chart and to your predetermined angle of the type sling you have selected.
  • Choose the chain size which meets your requirements.
  • When entering your order be sure you give complete information as to the size, reach and attachments required.
